Author's Spotlight "Natasha Moore"

After a minor hiatus from our author spotlight, Dreamtime’s back in full swing with this week’s author, Natasha Moore.

Moon: Is Natasha Moore your real name, or a pen name. If it's a pen name what made you choose it?

Natasha: Yes, I use a pen name because of my day job. My hubby chose Natasha, guess he thought it sounded more exciting to be married to someone with an exotic name. I don't mind though, he puts up with a lot being married to a writer.

Moon: Tell us a bit about who Natasha Moore is.

Natasha: A good girl who only recently discovered the joys of erotic romance.
A wife and mother who raises a few eyebrows with her stories.

Moon: When did you first start writing?

Natasha: I've been writing since grade school. I wrote my own version of fan fic in sixth grade, passing around chapters to my classmates.

Moon: What is your preferred genre(s) to write in and why?

Natasha: I write romance because I love the high I get from that happy ending - there's nothing better in my opinion, except maybe sexual tension building between the characters.

Moon: How did the things you experienced growing up affect who you are as a woman and a writer?

Natasha: I was the eldest child, so I grew up with a great sense of responsibility (hence the good girl) School and learning was important to me and reading and writing were a part of that - and still is how I like to spend my time.

Moon: What do you do when you are not writing?

Natasha: I work a day job in an office setting and I'm looking forward to the day when I can write full-time. My husband and I like to travel in our RV when we're not working - it's great, I can travel and see new places and my laptop travels with me, so I can write from anywhere.

Moon: What sorts of things inspire you?

Natasha: My husband likes to tell everyone that he's my inspiration :) But I'm also inspired by interesting characters, "what if" scenarios, unusual settings...just about anything can inspire story ideas.

Moon: What sorts of things are most important to you?

Natasha: My family, most definitely

Moon: What do you like to read? Who are your favorite authors? And what books growing up influenced you most?

Natasha: Wow, I read all over the board. Mostly romance, but a lot of mainstream fiction, mystery... Favorite authors...hmm, Jennifer Crusie, Emma Holly, Dean Koontz, MaryJanice Davidson...just for starters.

One of the books I read over and over growing up was A Wrinkle In Time, I don't know what it was about the story, whether is was the adventure, or the characters and their love of family, but I loved that book.

Moon: What challenges have you faced in you writing? What sorts of new projects would you like to try that you haven’t?

Natasha: Finding time to write around the day job is always a struggle. So is stretching and growing as a writer.

I would love to write some longer, multi-layered books, but for the time being I'm having fun with my shorter projects.

Moon: If a movie producer said he liked you work and wanted to make a movie out of it, how would you cast it?

Natasha: Taste of Honey deals with a rough cowboy and a polished lady. I'd love to cast Matthew McConaughey and Gwyneth Paltrow as Jake and Shauna.

Moon: Please tell us about what you are working on now, and what things we can expect to be available in the near future.

Natasha: I'm just finishing a novella with an illusionist who abducts his former lover/assistant.

In Feb. I have an erotic romance coming from eRed Sage, Quinn's Curse. The hero is a cursed pirate's ghost. In June I have a contemporary romance The Passion-Minded Professor coming from Samhain about a diner waitress, a chemistry professor, and a love potion.

If you want to get to know Natasha better visit her website and her blog. :)
