Awhile ago I talked about a remake of the Beauty and the Beast story I did and of finding it a new home. Well today that has become a reality. My modern fairy tale, “Isabella”, is now available through Shadowfire Press, and at $2.50 what a steal. :)

Tomorrow Shadowfire Press is having a multi author chat at both Love Romances Café and Beth Wylde’s so I hope ya’ll can come join us. I’m going to be promoing my new ebook Nashoba’s Hope and having a lot of fun doing it. Looking forward to catching so hot question ya’ll through at me and hopefully coming up with some interesting answers. And for those of you still hoping to win a copy of Ancestral Magic, head on down to Midnight Moon Café and comment there for your chance.
I just got an email from Shadowfire press that my first ebook, Nashoba’s Hope, has just gone live today on this site. It’s novella length, so great for as quick read. It's listed as historic romance, but as a shapeshifter novel there's plenty of paranormal.
Nashoba's Hope by Moondancer Drake
Genre: Historic Erotic Romance
Heat Rating: Warm
Warnings: GLBT f/f
Length: Long Story-12,300 words / 67 pages
Price: $3.75
Coming April 17th from Shadowfire Press
The sins of the past and desires of the present collide for two women caught in a war between their people.
Blurb
Nashoba is a shifter, a warrior with the gift to take the form of both woman and beast. She is also the last of her tribe after smallpox killed everyone she ever loved, including her wife and sons. Now gathered together with other shifter kin, she battles to make a home for them all, and to seek revenge on the white soldiers she blames for the death of her family.
May came to America in the wake of her sister's death to look after her brother-in-law and their farm. May is working to find a place far from the European universities she was buried in, a task she fears is as hopeless as finding love. A nighttime attack on her brother by a mysterious Indian woman threatens to undo everything May has ever known. In the wake of the attack, May finds herself inexplicably drawn to the woman responsible for it.
Is there hope for these two women to find common ground coming from worlds so far apart, or will deep-set hatreds and old wounds doom them and their people to a bloody war no one can truly win?

My release date for Nashoba’s Hope is being moved up my nearly a month which is really exciting. This means for those of you who were hoping to nab a copy in May, now you’ll be able to download you own in mid April. Hmmm now I need to find places willing to do reviews of f/f ebooks (unless Shadowfire handles that, they seem pretty on when it comes to promo stuff. :)

I’m trying out unicreatures since dragon cave is down so much lately.
Oh and as a reminder,
con_or_bust is still running auctions, so there’s time to donate something, or buy, buy, buy! For those who do not know,
con_or_bust is an online auction to raise money to help POC get to WisCon this year.

I’m trying out unicreatures since dragon cave is down so much lately.
Oh and as a reminder,
After a week of fighting this flue, with a high grade fever, my daughter’s fever is now not only down to normal but has stayed down all night into this morning. Whew! I am so relieved, though exhausted from taking care of a very miserable kidlet all week.
For those of you out there who have been poking me about when Ancestral Magic is coming out (yes I know the publishers website said Fall 2008), some more good news. I just went over the final version of the galley and it looks like it’s a go. How soon now? I’d say it has to be within the month. (crossing fingers for having copies for Oddcon)
I’ve got a strange question, or a pair of questions in fact. The four novellas I have in process on being released are going to be ebook only. I’d like to see them (f/f) in print as well, and the ebook publisher doesn’t own the print rights to these. I thought putting all 4 stories in a print edition of multicultural f/f para romance might do well, I just don’t know what publishers might like that idea, and wouldn’t need to ebook rights along with print rights.

I don’t know if I remembered to mention it, but my story “A Taste of Inspiration” has been accepted by Shadowfire Press, and I just finished all of the paperwork for it (except for the contract which will go out tomorrow). It feels good to get that done, knowing what a pile of things I have slotted to do tomorrow. One project is I have is to decide whether I am sending the first three chapters of “Bloodstained Innocence” or “White Lotus” in for the Wiscon Writers Workshop this year. Which ever one I decide on has to be worked on this week so I can get it in before the April 1 deadline.
Now some of my friends have been waiting for my report regarding my first visit to an erotic dance club. Well, wait no more. I’ll leave the next section beneath the cut for those who do not wish to hear of my debauchery (heheh) I apologize now to typos and the like, but a lot of this came out in a rush from my head, which was full of the experience.

It’s been a good day for the most part. I got read through of the review copy of Ancestral Magic finished and the artist sent me a note saying the publisher receive the very final art for the cover. If my luck holds out Ancestral Magic will be available before Oddcon.
I finished edits on Nashoba’s Hope today, and not only did the Shadowfire Press editor say she was impressed with my speed at getting them done, but that she was looking forward to working with me again. Bonus! The cover for that one is near completion.
I want to thank
calimac for posting this song by Tom Chapin, with Michael Mark and Jon Cobert which had me doing deep belly laughs. Ya’ll got to watch this. I suppose if you like Sarah Palin you might not find this funny, but then I really don’t know anyone that is fond of the woman in the least.

In and out of the house like crazy today, but wanted to let ya'll know I got some great news. "Isabella" has been picked up by Shadowfire Press to be published this summer. Along with "Wild Things" (due out in fall) and "Nashoba’s Hope" (due out in time for Wiscon) that three. Not a bad start to my year.
No hatching yet, 5 days left...should I be worried?
