ROME (Reuters) - An Italian court has ruled the government must pay 100,000 euros ($157,700) in damages to a man who was told to retake a driving test because he was homosexual.
When 26 year-old Danilo Giuffrida told doctors he was gay at his medical examination for military service, they passed the information to the transport ministry, who told him he must repeat his driving test or have his license withdrawn due to his "sexual identity disturbance."
The second annual Healthcare Equality Index rates 88 U.S. hospitals on their policies and practices related to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
I think when it comes to ebook publishers I'm just cursed. Two contests won (both 2nd place), two books not to editing even before the publishers have to close thier doors. Both closed in very professional manners, and for good reasons, but neigther was any less disappointing. I wish Debra and the rest at DEP, and post the letter Dabra sent up to the readers group (the one sent to the authors was longer) so that folks know the truth behind the closure. DEP are good folks, and this closing is no ones fault.

New Delhi - Sakena Yacoobi well knows the hardships of Afghan women, caught between a war and the hopelessness of poverty and illiteracy.
Yet on International Women's Day Saturday, the Afghan educator will not ask the world to help Afghan women. Instead, she will ask Afghan women to help the world.
Tracey de Morsella (the Managing Producer of The Multicultural Advantage) posted this on one of the mail lists we're on together. As many of us that spend far too much time sitting at our computers, I thought it was a great thing to pass on.
