I finally finished the revisions to Bloodstained Innocence, even with the sick kidlets and all slowing me down. It’s gone from a polished copy back to a rough version now, but we are down to two POV character all the way through and from 65k to over 72k words so not a bad start. Time to send the whole thing off to the betas so it’s ready to seek an agent in May or so. I’m serious. I’m hoping to take this one mainstream. If I can pull that off it will bring more attention on the lesfic work I have as well as be good for the future of Bloodstained Innocence.
Crap it’s almost the end of March! Where the heck did the month go? I’m plugging away on Bloodstained Innocence, and now realize I have yet to send the first three chapters to betas so I can have them ready for the Wiscon Writers Workshop before April 1st. Damn. Okay, anyone out there have time today or tomorrow to look over less then 10k of a non erotic bi paranormal piece?
I don’t know if I remembered to mention it, but my story “A Taste of Inspiration” has been accepted by Shadowfire Press, and I just finished all of the paperwork for it (except for the contract which will go out tomorrow). It feels good to get that done, knowing what a pile of things I have slotted to do tomorrow. One project is I have is to decide whether I am sending the first three chapters of “Bloodstained Innocence” or “White Lotus” in for the Wiscon Writers Workshop this year. Which ever one I decide on has to be worked on this week so I can get it in before the April 1 deadline.
Now some of my friends have been waiting for my report regarding my first visit to an erotic dance club. Well, wait no more. I’ll leave the next section beneath the cut for those who do not wish to hear of my debauchery (heheh) I apologize now to typos and the like, but a lot of this came out in a rush from my head, which was full of the experience.

Okay, I finally got through the publishers edits (first run anyway) for Natural Order and sent those back, and am now looking at Shadow Magic (sequel to Ancestral Magic), and thinking it may be ready to be submitted to the publisher. This sinus infection is still killing me, but I have to get this done. If all goes well I’m be starting on Natural Rebirth (sequel to Natural Order) this week and hopefully that’ll be ready to send in by Wiscon time this May. I’ve scanned my short story submissions list, and I think the queer sci fi call from Queer Fiction, and the f/f wedding bit may be all I tackle this week. Those are due round the end of the month.
As much as I’d like to have stuff out in anths so that I have more name recognition with folks, I don’t want to stretch myself too thin. I have a novel I’d like to have ready for the Wiscon writers workshop, so that means it has to be ready to go by mid next month. It’s mostly written (Bloodstained Innocence) but I’m thinking if it want it to really have a shot at mainstream markets I have to make some hefty revisions which takes time. I had great comment from reader on the possible openings to be used, and I think the Chi one won out over all. That also means I need to look carefully at the numbers of POV scenes, adding some in Chi’s POV to even things out. That’ll be the hardest part I think.
Update on Bloodstained Innocence: Okay I've moved stuff around and I don't think I have to add as many Chi POV scenes as I though, and the ones I do have to add I am completely seeing how they fit in (yea!). So, this will be far less painful than I thought. Hurrah for Moontime creative juju! Right now Bloodstained Innocence is at over 65k and I'm thinking it'll be closer to 70k or even 80k when I'm finished with the revisions.

And here’s the new eggs!

And here’s the new eggs!
Okay I need some advice. I need to know which of these pages is a more gripping first page one for a novel, since I am dealing with 2 POVs in this book. Keep in mind, these is in mid revision, so there’ll be editing bugs, but I want to see where the new revision should begin.…

I joined a new writing group today that looks like fun, meta writer, and an thinking about what I need to catch up on. I got my edits in for Natural Order, and hoping I feel well enough to start tackling those today. I did not only get some thought on things to fix with Bloodstained Innocence, but considering doing a prequel novel or two for Oh It’s Magic to center more on how Juniper gets the shop. You see, she grew up in some really bad foster home and spent years as an exotic dancer after running away to earn the money for the magic shop…I was thinking starting the first book from the time just before she gets the shop, while she’s still a dancer. As far as BI, I think I'm going to switch out all the other POV I was using and just do the story from Ashante and Chi's POV, to show how each are affected by the other entering thier life.
Along with a sinus cold I can’t seem to shake, I just got a rejection of “Bloodstained Innocence” from my publisher.

Bloodstained Innocence has it's last run of edits and as of today is off to the publisher for submissions. It'll be quite a time before they get around to reading it but I have my fingers crossed that they'll like it.
In the craziness of kittidom and kids still home from school I have gotten a few things done that could be considered productive…

Even with sweet and demanding kittens to play with who have already got the “here let me climb on your laptop and get your attention” down to an art, I got a good bit done on Bloodstained Innocence. Can you imagine batting four sets of paw off the keys? Crazy making!

I’m going to do today’s traveling post as I go from my home to Phoenix for GCLS con in a journaling fashion, making notes as I go through my day.
