Now that 2007 has come to a close, and we’ve started a new year of Author Spotlights on Dreamtime. I thought it would be a good time to give thought to those authors who were kind enough to share themselves and their work with us in the past year. (side note, this was much more indebth, but lj burped on my and I had to do it all over again)
Carole McDonnell was Dreamtime's first spotlighted author, and was the inspiration for convincing me that I wanted to do these from them on. She’s the creator of the gripping new multicultural Christian fantasy novel Windfollower.
It was a joy to get a chance to talk to Lara Zielinsky, author of “Turning Point”, a new lesfic romance out from PD Publishing. Hollywood and love, how can you resist.
And then I got to spend time with my sistah, Xakara. It was one of my favorite interviews, and worth a visit to get to know this amazing lady. Check out her lj page too, not to be missed. I had a blast with Mindy Klasky, whose new book, Sorcery and the Single Girl came out in September of this year. I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us in the coming year.
This year has been fun in many ways for me, but imagine my thrill when I was approached by Queer Girl Talk to do author interviews with their publication. Terri Breneman, Author of the Toni Baston series, was my first, and friends that was a great ride. D. K. is a great co-interviewer.
This year also marked Dreamtimes first WOCBT (Writers of Color Blog Tour) spotlight, as well as Dreamtimes first male author toured. Cecil Washington is the publisher of Creative Brother's Sci-Fi Magazine an African-American Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Magazine as well as author of “Badlands: An Underground Science Fiction Novel”
This has been a great year for Dreamtime, here’s just a taste of what you’ll find if you search our archives...
WOCBT gal Rae Lindley, author of the sci-fi thriller Cimmerian City, has a must see book that just came out this year.
Fellow ljer Paige E. Roberts, who proved she is not as innocent as she may look *wink* Check out her lj blog and see what hotness she has to offer.
C.J. Parker is the author of a new series, the “Fugue Macabre” trilogy, a must have for any horror lover.
Jeaniene Frost, author of the “Night Huntress” series joined us for some peek into what we can expect in the future for the sexy half-vamp, Cat Crawfield.
I first became drawn to Mandy M Roth’s style of writing when I read her book Loup Garou, Now I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in her two new smokin’ paranormal novels, The Guardians and Demonic Desires.
Lucy Snyder, lj gal and author of the dark sci fi humor anth, “Installing Linux on a Dead Badger”. The title alone is bound to make ya curious.
With co-interviewer DK Ward, I got to have a chat with Anna Furtado, author of the great lesfic mysteries, The Briarcrest Chronicles
Erin O’Reilly, author of lesfic goodness like her novel Revelations, and the book New Beginnings that she co-wrote with J.M. Dragon.
Sylvia Kelso, history guru and author of a great new fantasy from Juno Books titled Amberlight
Natasha Moore was our last author spotlight for 2007 and a great gall to sent the year out with. Her sizzling romances like “The Ride of Her Life” and “Nothing to Fear” are a great addition to any collenction.
I hope everyone had a great 2007, and be sure to come see our first 2008 spotlight with short story sci fi goddess, Jennifer Pelland.
